Welcome to Troop 169

We are Boy Scout Troop 169 of Nashville, TN. We strive to run our troop by the characteristics that govern scouting:

A Scout is   trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

We have at least one outing per month, which is selected and planned by the boy leadership of the Troop.

 Typical outings have included:

  • weeklong summer camp
  • district camporees
  • themed campouts to various locations
  • hiking
  • Scouting for Food
  • service projects
  • more!

Boy Scouting is for any boy which has completed the fifth grade (or earned the Arrow of Light Award) until they turn 18.

If you are interested in learning more about our troop please feel free to email us or attend one of our meetings.

TROOP MEETINGS

Scoutmaster's Message

Boy Scouts of America is an organization whose mission is to instill in its members an appreciation of their duties to God and their community. In addition, it strives to help scouts develop leadership skills, emotional strength and physical fitness.

Our troop is boy run and emphasizes the use of the patrol method in doing so. The scouts themselves organize and plan events, which allows them to learn quickly by doing it themselves. The troop's adult leadership is present to guide and support them. My goals as Scoutmaster are to keep the boys interested in scouting and help them mature into responsible young men.

I encourage you and your son to visit Troop 169 where you will be able to see for yourself how our troop operates as well as meet our fine scouts and parents. Please feel free to contact us to set up a visit or if you have any questions. Thank you for considering Troop 169.

        Teresa Cook, Scoutmaster Troop 169

Our meetings are usually every Friday of the month, from September through May and the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, from June through August  and are usually at the St. John's United Methodist Church on Charlotte Pike, from 6:30pm to 8pm.

Boy Scouting, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.
