Camping gear recommendations:
As far as sleeping bags go any brand name 30 degree bag will work, but I really like the USGI modular 4 piece sleep system. You can find them at most on line surplus stores for around $130 plus shipping, or if you look on EBay, you can find them for around $100 including shipping. Just be sure they are original USGI an in Very Good or Excellent condition.

For a meal kit I use the Light My Fire 6 Piece Meal Kit which is available pretty much anywhere camping gear is sold.

I also really recommend that you buy the harness that holds the whole thing together. If you look around you can buy it for less than $10 including shipping.
