What is a Den?
A Den is a group of scouts in the same grade and of the same gender.  The dens are often referred to by the rank that the scouts are currently working toward for the current school year.  There are six ranks of dens:
  • Lion (Kindergarten)
  • Tiger (1st Grade)
  • Wolf (2nd Grade)
  • Bear (3rd Grade)
  • Webelos (4th Grade)
  • Arrow of Light (5th Grade)

What are Den Meetings?

Den Meetings are a time for learning new things and having fun.  Dens are led by a team of adult volunteers - the den leader and assistant den leader(s).  Dens leaders are usually adult family members of boys in the den.

What is a Pack?

A Pack is the combination of all the Dens.

How often do Cub Scouts meet?    

Den meetings occur on Tuesday evenings at the Linden Street School Cafeteria at 6:30pm.  Unless otherwise specified by your Den Leader.

Pack Meetings occur once a month on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 at the Linden Street School Cafeteria unless otherwise specified on the Pack Calendar.  Boys are expected to wear their Class A Uniforms to Pack Meetings.

What do Scouts do at these meetings?

Den Meetings are about learning new things, having fun and working on projects and accomplishments to be presented at the Pack Meetings.

Pack Meetings are a time to recognize the scouts for their accomplishments during the month and to have fun with the entire family!

Do Scouts go on any trips?

Each month some type of travel activity is planned for the scouts to participate in.  These activities range from hikes, trips to different points of interest.  Family members are to attend these activitites.

What does it cost to join Cub Scouts?

Registration cost is $70 per scout.  This covers the fees assessed by the National Office and the Council Office.

There is a Fundraising Obligation that changes each year depending on the budget set by the Pack Committee at the end of July.  This covers the operating cost of the pack and includes three parties, pinewood derby supplies, a one year subscription to Boys Life Magazine, along with other things  Each boy is then required to participate through the various fundraisers that the Pack participates in (i.e. popcorn (fall), meat sticks (year round) & pancake breakfast (spring)).

The Dens might charge an additional fee to cover art supplies for den activities on an as needed bases.

Uniform are additional cost.  However the Scouts Neckerchief, Slide, Handbook, and any awards earned through the scout year will be purchased and paid for by the Pack.
