The various parts of the uniform are available at either the Columbia, MO Scout Shop, located on Fay Street (off Business Loop 70, close to College Ave), or online at www.scoutstuff.org (links below)

The minimum uniform required is:

$12.99 (paperback) - $18.99 (coil/ring bound)

(paperback handbook have been known to break at the spine, so ring bound books are recommended)

Totaling all these items up gives a cost of $63.95 (or $69.95 for ring bound handbook)

There are other parts of the uniform, to create the "Complete uniform", which are rank based caps, pants/shorts, and socks! Pack 809 is happy for kids to wear the complete field uniform, but while the above-linked items are considered the minimum, the others are optional.

The initial fees are due at the beginning of the scouting year, which coincides with the start of the school year, so generally around August. However, the pack must "recharter" each December with the Boy Scouts of America, so further registration fees are due then as well, each year.

In order to make this easier for parents, we ask for $32 to cover the first year of scouting plus the months between the end of the first year and the next rechartering. 

Currently, each scouting years costs $33 and goes from August to July the following year. So, if your son joins in August of 2017, the $33 would last until the end of July 2018. 

Rechartering would be required in December of 2018, so to cover August through December, we add $2.75 per month, so $11 to the initial registration fee. $33 + $11 = $44. By raising money during the scouting year, the Pack plans to pay for future years for each cub scout.

The current total cost to join scouting at the Cub Scout level is $107.95 ($113.95 ring bound handbook)
