What are the requirements to join Cub Scouts?
Tiger Cubs (entering first grade or age 7), Cub Scouts (entering second or third grade, or age 8 or 9), Webelos Scouts (entering fourth or fifth grade, or age 10).
What does Cub Scouting offer my son or daughter?
Cub Scouting offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness. Service projects, ceremonies, games, and other activities guide kids through the core values and give them a sense of personal achievement. Through positive peer group interaction and parental guidance, kids also learn honesty, bravery, and respect.
What are the responsibilities of a parent? - Provide help and support for the den and pack.
- Work with your son on advancement projects and activities.
- Attend pack meetings with your child.
- Attend Cub Scout Family campouts with your child.
Do Cub Scouts go camping?

Where can I buy uniforms, handbooks, and other required items?
The "Starting costs" page contains a list of all the required items and their 2017 prices. These items can be bought either at: - The Scout Shop is located at 1203 Fay Street, Columbia, MO 65201 (map)
or - If you are comfortable specifying your child's shirt size (S/M/L), they will also take phone orders and ship via UPS.

How often are the meetings?
- Cub Scouts usually meet between 4pm until 5pm, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday's of the months September through to May (i.e. the school year). We will also meet on some weekends, and for extra events during the school summer vacation.
- We meet at Columbia Independent School, though some meetings may be in other locations, especially weekend meetings. Alternate locations or changes to the normal schedule will be emailed way ahead of time.
- How can I learn more?
- The best way to learn about what a Cub Scout really does is to talk with a Cub Scout who is engaged in the program. Alternatively, you can learn more about the Cub Scout program by selecting "Contact Our Pack" (here or above) and ask questions, or leave your phone number to receive a call from the Cubmaster.
